Herir. v.a. Romper el continuo
del cuerpo del animal con algun instrumento, u darle golpe: y por extención
en otro cualquier cuerpo. Tiene las anomalias de recibir la i antes de
la e en algunos tiempos y personas: como Yo hiero, hiere tu, hiera aquel:
y en otros muda la e en i: como Hirió, hiriera, hiriesse,
&c. Viene del Latino Ferire, que significa esto mismo. Lat. Percutere.
Glifoere. Ama. lib.1. cap.14. Dejóse ir a Dardan, e hiriólo
por encima del yelmo de tan fuerte golpe, que le hizo dar con las manos en tierra.
Solis, Histo. de Nuev. Esp. lib.4. cap.14. Pero no basto su diligencia para que
dejassen de alcanzarle alguna flechas, y más rigurosamente una piedra que
le hirió en la cabeza.
Herir. Significa también golpear, dar con algo en alguna parte: y asi se dice, Hirió la piedra, hirió el arbol, &c. Lat. Percutere. Rebad. Fl. Sanct. Vid. de S.Isidro. Fue allá el siervo de Dios con su aguijada, y hiriendo con ella una piedra, como orro Moises, dijo: Aquí cuando Dios queria, agua habia.
To wound [injure, stab, strike]. It also means to strike a blow, to hit with something in some part: and thus one says, The stone wounded, the tree was wounded, etc. Lat. Percutere. Rebad. Fl. Sanct. Vid. de S.Isidro. The servant of God was [went] there with his aguijada [waterfinder], and wounding [striking] a stone with it, as orro Moses, he said: Here when God would want it, there was water.

de agudo. Phrase de la destreza, que signífica herir de punta, ù
estocada: y por allusion se usa para dar à entender que à alguno
le han ofendido en la honra injuriandole. Trahe estas phrases Covarr. en su Thesoro.
Lat. Punetim percutere.
Herir de agudo. Phrase of the art of defense, that means to wound with point, or thrust: and by allusion it is used to give to understand that they have offended someone in the honor injuring him. Covarr. brings these phrases in his Thesaurus. Lat. Punetim percutere.
